Evelyn Loretta Ashe Oliphant, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Shelby, NC to the late Alvin Estes Ashe and Annie Larcy Jane Gibson Ashe and was the wife of 20 years to the late Otis Edward Oliphant. Evelyn attended the Burlington Assembly of God and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Otis. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Oakley and husband, Tommy, Donna Halas and husband, Kenny; step daughters, Vanna Cook and husband, Mark, Marie Brown and husband, James and Emily Oxendine; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Faye Smith and husband, Roger and Emma Jean Farrell; brother, Larry Ashe and wife, Carol and daughter-in-law, Debbie Rudd. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Rudd, husband and parents. A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 27, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday and other times at the daughter, Cathy's home.
