Evelyn Brophy

Evelyn Mary Quetchenbach Brophy, 94, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Twin Lakes Healthcare Center. She was born in Rochester, NY to the late Albert and Ida Erb Quetchenbach and was married to the late James Thomas Brophy. Evelyn was a housewife and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Burlington. Survivors include her children and spouses, Mary and Thomas Winkel of Gibsonville, NC, Karen Potter of Valencia, CA, James Brophy and wife, Margaret Keith of Tecumseh, Ontario Canada, Stephen and Janeece Brophy of Manchester, NH, Kevin Brophy and wife, Michele Maccaroni-Brophy of Canton, CT, Terrance and Ryoko Brophy of San Francisco, CA; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Albert Quetchenbach, Dorothy Schaller and Rev. Raymond Quetchenbach, S.V.D. There will be two services held on two different dates. The first funeral mass will be held 4:00 pm Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the May-Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes Community Center, Burlington, NC. The second funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 831 Genesee St., Rochester, NY and the inurnment to follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
