Mrs. Eva Gerringer Wyrick, age 94, formerly of NC Hwy 87 N., passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Lyman David Gerringer and the late Fannie Elizabeth Ross Gerringer Crouse and was married to the late Elmer Fentress Wyrick, who died in 1999. She retired from Dura Tread Hosiery after several years of service and was a longtime member of Shallow Ford Christian Church, where she was a member of the Women's Fellowship. Mrs. Wyrick is survived by two daughters, Yvonne W. Brooks of Burlington and Linda W. Key and her husband, John Peterson of Chapel Hill; two grandchildren, Kathy Agapito Espitia and Rodney Tracy Brooks; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Thompson of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Ethel Cable; four brothers, Boyd Gerringer, Marvin Gerringer, Everette Gerringer and L.D. Gerringer, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Wayne Brooks. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Owen and Mr. Steve Forbis. Interment will follow at Shallow Ford Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at her daughter's home, 3646 Mine Creek Rd., Burlington. Mrs. Wyrick's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Blakey Hall for all their loving care that was extended to Mrs. Wyrick during her stay there.
