Burlington-Eva Thompson Caldwell, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2024. She was born in New Hanover County on June 16, 1941 to the late Robert Edgar and Geneva Lou Dixon Thompson and was the wife of 55 years to the late Jackie Noble Caldwell.
Eva retired from ABSS in foodservice and formerly owned “Two Sisters” restaurant and later was employed with Twin Lakes. She was a longtime member of Glen Raven Baptist Church, singing with a Trio at the church, director of the Ensemble and very active in the church music ministry. Eva volunteered at ACC in helping teach English as a 2nd language classes. Eva especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Mitzi Bullard and husband, Don and Kelly Rivers and husband, Robbie; son, Jackie Noble “Chad” Caldwell II and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Amber Jolly and husband, Scott, Spencer Rivers and wife, Candace and Kinsley Caldwell; great grandchild, Hayden Jolly, Leighton Burch and Blakleigh Rivers; her brother, Robbie Thompson and wife, Betty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Noble Caldwell; her parents; her sister, Edwina Hughes and her brother, Johnny Thompson.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on at 2 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor Sean Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
