Eula Mae Barksdale

Eula Mae Lott Barksdale, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Liberty Commons in Burlington. She was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on October 4, 1942 to the late James Lott and Charlie Mae Meeks.

Eula was a lifetime member of People’s Baptist Church in Ashtabula, OH where she served as an usher and deaconess. She was a gifted cook and seamstress and enjoyed spending time outdoors camping or fishing. Eula was independent and possessed a strong work ethic, often noted for her strict and no-nonsense approach. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, James Barksdale, Jr.; daughters, Carolyn Ann Adams, Annetta Story, Stephenie Gene Morgan (Michael), Lorie Therman; a grandson whom she raised, Anthony Gene; eight grandchildren, host of great great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Fred Adams and her beloved aunt, Mary Jeffries.

A service to celebrate Eula’s life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Melvin Motley with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 – 10:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
