Eugene Loy

Elon Eugene Arthur Loy, age 96, formerly of Elon-Ossipee Rd., passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 at Edgewood Place. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late William Arthur and Mary Alice Brothers Loy. He retired from Cone Mills in Haw River and was an Army Veteran of WWII where he served 38 months overseas. Mr. Loy is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Beatrice Stanley and Arlene Loy; brother, William Lofton Loy; half brother, Lacey Loy and half sister, Bertha Kernodle. A graveside service will be held at 9:00am Monday at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Bob Cauthren. At Mr. Loy's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
