Eugene Dameron

Eugene Thomas Dameron, age 87, of 546 Elva Drive passed away Wednesday July 5, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Caswell County, he was son of the late Walter Anderson and Lillian Maude Fuqua Dameron and husband of Frances Compton Dameron who survives. Mr. Dameron was an Army veteran of WWII where he served in the European Theater and received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was a member of American Legion Post 63 and St. Lukes United Methodist Church. Mr. Dameron was employed by Thompson Arthur Paving Co. for many years and later worked with J. W. Long and Sons. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Frances Compton Dameron of the home; brothers, Lee Dameron of Burlington and Grant Dameron of Winston-Salem; sisters, Mable McKinney of Elon and Nancy Dameron of Haw River. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph Dameron. Glen Dameron and Maxie Dameron and sister, Ruby Pierce. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. George M. Jack Phillips. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Dameron will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Thursday.
