Ethelene Porter

Elon - Ethelene Ray Porter, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County on April 24, 1937 to the late William and Mamie Miller Ray and was the wife to Wade Pembleton Porter of 54 years who survives.

Ethelene retired from Graphic Systems in Burlington. She received her GED at age 60 and was a member of Faith Bible Chapel.

Survivors other than her husband, Wade Porter include a daughter, Lisa Solomon and her friend, Michael Mock; a son, William "Bill" Porter and wife, Pamela; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and a special niece, Carole Clapp and husband, Jimmy.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Robertson with the entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
