Ethel Beck Hemrick

Ethel Lavina Beck Hemrick, 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields.  She was born in Guilford County on September 19, 1923 to the late David Picken Beck and Ada Lavina Dean Beck, and was married to the late Virgil Hemrick who died in 1997.

Ethel was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church, the Grove Park Widows Support Group, and was a former volunteer at Alamance Regional Medical Center and Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha Johnson and her husband, David; son, Tom Hemrick and his wife, Laura; grandchildren and spouses, James and Angela Hemrick, Robin and Todd Wagoner; great grandchildren, Frank Wagoner, Shelli Wagoner, Kate Hemrick, Owen Hemrick, Will Hemrick and Arden Hemrick.  Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and five brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, February 10, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Roger Roach and Rev. Marc Sanders with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields for their loving care and compassion that was shown to Ethel during her illness.
