Ethel Knapp

Ethel Lee Ogburn Knapp, 75, of Burlington died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. She was born in Emporia, VA to the late Edward Thomas and Willie Ella Daniel Ogburn and was married to the late William Lloyd "Bill" Knapp. Ethel was a former employee with Dr. Walker's Dentist Office and also at JC Penney. She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Marine and husband, Raymond of Burlington; sons, Ed Knapp of Oxford, NC and Craig Knapp and wife, Phyllis of Georgetown, Texas; four grandchildren, Heather Knapp, Ethan Knapp, William Brian Marine and Cameron Marine; sisters, Ella Sims Brumbles, Betty Romine and Evelyn Joyce Smith and her husband Harry; brothers, J.C. Ogburn and wife Joyce and Thomas Ogburn and wife Judy. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Pauline Prince and brothers, William Arthur Ogburn and Wilbur Treadway Ogburn. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Garry Baldwin with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 Monday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the residence.
