Esther Wilborn

Mrs. Esther Weaver Wilborn, 84, of 1670 Westbrook Ave., went home to be with her Lord Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Hospice Home after two years of declining health. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edgar Weaver and the late Nannie Wise Powell Weaver and was married to the late William Otto Wilborn, who died in 1988. She retired from Collins & Aikman with over 30 years of service. Mrs. Wilborn was a longtime and dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she was in the Ladies Bible Class and served on the Fellowship Committee and also as a nursery attendant. Mrs. Wilborn is survived by a daughter, Emily Gray and her husband, Bobby, of Burlington; a son, Lewis Wise Wilborn and his wife, Carol, of Burlington; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, two sons, Joseph Edgar Wilborn and Douglas McAuthur Wilborn; five sisters; and four brothers. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2008 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Hobbs. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her daughter, 427 Boone Rd., Burlington.
