Ernest Myers, Jr.

Ernest “Ernie” Myers, Jr., 76 passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Hospice Home.  A native of Alamance County and the husband of 58 years to Donna Hawk Myers who survives.   He was the son of the late Ernest Myers, Sr. and Dorothy Jane Holifield Myers.

Ernie was employed with Carolina Biological for many years before starting his own business Tri State Labs. He played softball for many years as a player on All State, Regional and World Softball Teams. Member of the ASA Forty-Over winning the State Title in 1985. He also played with the Carolina Biological softball Team. Ernie was an avid Duke fan and enjoyed playing golf most of his life. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Hawk Myers of the home; granddaughter, Brittney Solvey and husband, Michael of Elon; great grandson, Skyler Solvey; brothers, Johnny Myers and wife, Janice of Burlington and Darrell Myers and wife, Terry of Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Cathy Simmons and a son, Michael Todd Myers.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Whitsett by Rev. Tim Stevens. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
