Whitsett Ernest Norman Greeson, 93, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at his home due to complications from heart disease. He was born on May 9, 1920, the son of the late John Claude Greeson and the late Lillie Greeson. He was married to Juanita Freeman Greeson for 66 years who precedes him in death. Left to cherish his memory are sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Mary Greeson, Howard and Nancy Greeson; a daughter, Dee Greeson all of Whitsett; grandchildren and spouses, Jeff and Angie Greeson, Phillip and Stephanie Strouth and Terri Kestner; great grandchildren, Tanner and Justin Greeson, Emma, Abby, Ty and Chloe Strouth, and Austin Kestner; brother, Darce Greeson. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Luther, Horace, Thurman and Raymond Greeson and his infant brothers, Vance and Marvin Greeson. In 1947, Ernest opened Greeson's Grocery on Rock Creek Dairy Road in Whitsett. His sons took over the business in 1965 when he went to work as a Deputy with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department until his retirement. The graveside service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ Cemetery by Rev. Lloyd Spencer. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt.
