Erma Fisher

Burlington Mrs. Erma Loy Fisher, 82, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Hospice Home after 2 months of critical illness. She was born in Alamance County to the late Lacy L. Loy and the late Pearl Cobb Loy. She was married to the late Everette Odell "Red" Fisher who died Jan. 20, 2012. Mrs. Fisher retired after 17 years with Lab Corp. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and a member of the Companions Sunday School Class. Survivors include daughters, Sherry John Horn of Baton Rouge, LA and Torie F. Benson of the home; son, Kevin Lee Fisher, Sr. of Butner, NC; grandchildren, Brandi Sharpe, Lacie Layne, Kevin Lee Fisher, Jr., Matthew Littlejohn, J.J. Horn, Kayla Fisher, Emaliegh Fisher and Jeramie Fisher; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Schardien of Lady Lake, FL, Julia George Horner of Burlington, Shirley Dixon of Greensboro and Patricia Harold Cheek of Burlington; brothers, W.O. "Bud" Margie Loy of Burlington, Tommy Janice Loy of Leasburg, NC and Kirk Linda Loy of Burlington. Proceeded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Mildred Petty and Katherine "Sis" Allison. The Memorial Service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Bob Stephenson. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Hospice Home staff and to the Hospice Home Care staff, Janet, Kim, Tina and Rosa for all their loving care that they showed to Erma and the family.
