Eric Scott White, born on April 7, 1955, in Richmond County, Georgia, unexpectedly passed away peacefully at his residence on January 21, 2025, with his beloved cat and baby girl Zoe on his belly. He was a man marked by his unwavering spirit and the warmth he spread among those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eric devoted a significant part of his life to his career at General Electric, where he retired after many successful years of service. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a true enthusiast of life, embracing his love for NASCAR and all things racing. This passion was a defining characteristic of Eric, bringing excitement and joy into his everyday existence.
Those who knew Eric will fondly remember his love for Coca-Cola, a beverage he enjoyed with an endearing, continuous sipping. He was also a voracious reader and possessed a profound appreciation for rock and roll music, which filled his life with rhythm and soul. His ability to find joy in simple pleasures endeared him to family and friends alike.
A devoted pet lover, Eric cherished his fur babies, Zoe and Little Bit, who brought companionship and love into his life. They were a constant source of comfort and joy, reflecting the nurturing spirit he embodied.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory. His sisters, Dr. Kate White and her husband Michael Manning, as well as Jane-Ellen Bass and her husband Wiley, will hold onto the smiles and laughter they shared with him. Eric was an adored uncle to his nephews: William Asa Rowland and fiancé Gabrielle Andersen, Jonathan M. Farrell and fiancé Brittany Henderson, Michael N. Plante and wife Amanda, Brian W. Bass and wife Michelle, and Jason W. Bass. He also had a special place in his heart for his niece, Brittany H. Bass; great nephew, Elijah (Eli) Lawrence Plante; great niece Rosalie (Rosie) Pearl Plante and his honorary niece, Brandy Snyder. A special thank-you is offered to Eric’s good friend, companion, and housemate, Lyn Snyder.
Eric has now joined his beloved family members in eternal rest: his father, Cecil Asa White Jr.; his mother, Mary Jacqueline Agee; and his sister, Laurie Elizabeth White. Though they may be gone, the love and memories shared will forever serve as a bridge connecting the past with the present. A Celebration of Life will be held Spring 2025, place is to be determined.
In remembering Eric, we celebrate a life lived with passion, friendship, and love. His spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share their time with him. Eric, you will be missed dearly.
