Era Edwards

Mrs. Era Haddock Warlick Edwards, age 94, of 306 Atwater St., died Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Hospice Home after a brief illness. Raised in Charlotte, she later moved to Alamance County and was married to the late Robert Edgar Warlick who died in 1987 and later was married to the late John Frank Edwards who died in 2004. She was a career hairdresser and worked at several local shops. Era was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter since 1937, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of St. Margaret's Guild and was a volunteer at the Kernodle Senior Center. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her niece, Elizabeth Cloud and her husband, William, of Elon and a nephew, Robert B. Williams and his significant other, Patricia Williamson, of Burlington. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands and two sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Adam Shoemaker. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, 320 E.
