Graham Emmit Truett Moore, Sr., 83, of Graham went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Alamance Health Care after several years of failing health. He was born in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Truman David Moore and Emmie Henry Moore Allred and was married for 64 years to Barbara Jean Saunders Moore who survives. He retired from Cone Mills with over 30 years of service and was a member of the Mountain View Ruritan Club. Truett was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where he faithfully served as head usher for years, was an honorary coach for the church softball team and was a member of the Guiding Light Sunday School Class. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Saunders Moore of the home; daughters, Beth Luellen Mike Moser of Burlington, Melissa Ann Rick Mann of Graham; sons, Emmit T. LaJune Moore, Jr. and Kelly Robin Moore, all of Graham; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James "Jimmy" David Moore. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Redding and Rev. Bob Stephenson with entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the nurses and staff at Alamance Health Care and Hospice for taking such good care of Truett.
