Emma Faye Thompson Patton, 80, was carried home by the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County on September 13, 1935 to the late Jackson Zeno Pap Thompson and Mary Myrtle Foster Thompson and was married to the late Garnett Patton who died in 1996. Emma Faye retired from Annedeen Hosiery. She was a devoted church member, prayer warrior and Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church. Her faith in Jesus Christ was obvious to all. Most of all she cherished being a servant of the Lord, praying for others at every possible opportunity. Her sweet spirit, kindness and positive attitude will never be forgotten by those fortunate enough to have known her. Emma Faye attended Alexander Wilson where she completed the 10th grade. Then at the age of 60 her proudest accomplishment was receiving her GED from Alamance Community College. Survivors include her children and spouses, Vickie and Jimmy Whitt, Cheryl and John Greeson, Garry Foster, Judy and Ronnie Bowens; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a sister, Jane Catoe. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Larry Foster; sisters, Shirley Marley and Peggy Christopher. The funeral service will be held 11:00AM Monday, March 21, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Ernest Beck with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm Sunday, March 20th at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the daughter, Judy Bowens home. The Patton family believes that when someone passes, their life does not end but rather change. We know that Emma Faye has reached a place of everlasting peace alongside Jesus Christ. While we grieve her passing, with our grief comes the lightness of hope. Psalm 30:5 Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Emma Faye was a good wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and a dear friend to all and will be missed deeply. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Williamson Street, Burlington, NC 27217 or to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
