Elva Ring

Mrs. Elva Grace Craddock "Dossie" Ring, 68, of 607 Piedmont Way, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Ernest Craddock and the late Annie Bell Ervin Craddock. She was previously employed with Hornwood, Inc. and was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church. She loved music and played several instruments, along with composing several songs. "Dossie" is survived by two sisters, Lucille Hensley of Elon and Peggy Simmons and her husband, Leon, of Burlington; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lois Laney Brown; and a brother, Arnold Laney. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, November 21, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bobby Fann. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home and other times at the home of her sister, Lucille Hensley, 1439 Elon-Ossippe Rd., Elon.
