Elsie Velez

   Elsie retired from the Department of Social Services as a Social Worker after many years of service. She was devoted to her family and faith community. She was a member of the Burlington Assembly of God Church. Elsie enjoyed gardening, cooking, writing poetry, having several of her poems published. She was a thoughtful and caring person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

    She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cruz of the home; son, Miguel Henriguez of Stanten Island, NY; daughter, Lisa Andujar of Texas; step daughter, Desiree Weston and husband, Tyrone of Monticello, NY; loving niece, Natalie Velez of Stanten Island, NY and her grandchildren, Anthony Andujar, Jr., Justin Andujar, Andrew Andujar, Sir Braxton, Margarita Bonnet, Starr Henriguez, Isaiah Henriguez, Olivia Henriguez, Jasmine Andujar and Maria Andujar; step grandson, Tyrese Phipps; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Carmen Cruz and husband Domingo and Lydia Velez; her canine companion, Colby Velez Cruz. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Anthony Andujar, Sr., David Henriguez and Jose Andujar.

    A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 13,2022 at 2:00pm at the Burlington Assembly of God by Pastor Howard Thompson and Pastor Ray Yorke. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45pm prior to the service.
