Elois Buchanan

Elois Egerton Buchanan, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Hospice Home. Born in Carroll County, KY to the late Kenneth and Laura Leep Egerton and was the wife of 43 years to the late Kenneth Wayne Buchanan. Elois attended People's Memorial Christian Church. She had a passion for helping those in need and was heavily involved in Caring Kitchen and Allied Churches of Alamance County. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Scott Buchanan of Burlington; daughter, Laura Astuto and husband, Joe of Burlington; grandchildren, Bailey White and Melissa Buchanan; brothers, John Robert Egerton of Madison, IN, Gary Allen Egerton of Carrollton, KY; sisters, Donna Turner of Hanover, IN, Becky Hall and husband, Michael of Madison, IN, Sheila Brindley and husband, Junior of Seymour, IN, Jody Gray and husband, Timothy of Madison, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Friday, November 22, 2013 at People's Memorial Christian Church by Rev. John Shields with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
