Ellen Shively

Mrs. Clara Ellen Winn Shively, age 88, formerly of Troxler Mill Rd., passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Jennings Bryan Winn and the late Brownie Douglas Blaylock Winn and was married for over 65 years to the late Edwin Lee Shivley, who passed in 2012. Mrs. Shively retired from Copeland Fabrics after many years of service, was a former member of Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church and current member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler and was involved in several leagues.
Mrs. Shively is survived by her three daughters, Donna Jean Kernodle and her husband, Kris, of Burlington, Vonna Joan Hayes and her husband, Mike, of Holden Beach, NC and Robin Rudd and her husband, David, of Burlington; grandchildren, Chandler Rudd, Courtney Rudd, Wesley (Terri) Cook, Eddie Shively, Amanda Shively, Gary (Robin) Hayes, Kim Lunsford, Ethan Shively and Makenzie Shively; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters, Judy Fargis of Graham, Sandra Collins of Burlington and Kathy Faucette of Snow Camp; and two brothers, Bobby Winn of Myrtle Beach and Keith Winn of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Edwin Bryan Shively; three grandchildren, John Timothy Hayes, Teresa Dawn Hayes and Tommy Cook; her parents; two sisters, Joann Vincent and Jane Hayes; and two brothers, Donald Winn and Buddy Winn.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Tabernacle Baptist Church by Rev. Norman Fargis. Entombment will take place at 2:00 PM Monday, December 11 at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:45 PM Sunday afternoon at the church prior to the service and other times at her daughter, Donna Jean Kernodle's residence.
