Ellen Rhew

Ellen Burroughs Rhew, age 83 of 119 Buckhorn Drive passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. She was the wife of Harrison Carl Rhew, Jr. and was born January 7, 1928 in Henry County, VA to the late james and Jessie Shelton Burroughs. She retired from the Alamance County Mental Health Dept. after several years of service. Survivors include her husband of the home, daughters Joan Willard, Tammy Rhew both of Elon, grandchildren, Krista Rhew, Ashley Rhew, Sammy Jami Willard, Michael Jennifer White, great grandchildren; Jessica Willard, Kayley Willard, Logon Willard, Sophie Willard, Michael White, Alexis White and a brother Frank Burroughs of Reidsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Jann Landi and several siblings. The graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum by Rev. Mike Jones.The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the graveside service and at other times at the home.
