Elizabeth Stadler

ELON- Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Linnens Stadler, age 78, of Elon, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Hospice Home after a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late George Ashley Linnens, Sr. and the late Margaret Loman Linnens. She was married for 60 years to Mr. Virgil Lane Stadler, who survives. Ann graduated from Walter M. Williams High School and was a longtime member of Front St. United Methodist Church. She provided the initial investment capital to transform Stadler's Grocery into Stadler's Country Hams, where she served as the Personnel Manager for 16 years until retirement in 2001. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and served as a pillar in her church and her community for most of her adult life. Mrs. Stadler is survived by her husband of the home; three children, Lane Stadler Caruso and her husband, Gary, of San Diego, CA, Martin Dwayne Stadler and his wife, Pam, of Burlington and Bradley Shane Stadler and his wife, Tori, of Burlington; four grandchildren, Tyler Martin Stadler, Mitchell Lane Stadler, Bradley Luc Stadler and William Ashley Stadler; a brother, George Ashley Linnens, Jr. and wife, Marie, of Caswell County, and special cousin, Karen Hughes and husband, Jon. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Brammer and Vickie Sims. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. H. Sidney Huggins, III and Rev. Ray Wittman. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
