Elizabeth "Beth" Little Newton, age 49, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of 27 years to Dennis Ray Newton and the daughter of Rev. Charles Watts Little and the late Anne Blackwelder Little. She was a longtime employee of Oakley Paint & Paper, Inc. and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. She was actively involved with her children's lives and volunteered in several of the activities that they took part in. Her faith was undoubtedly the most important thing in her life with her husband and children coming in a close second. Throughout her last year on this earth, her one desire was to spread God's word to as many people as she could. Beth was a 1978 graduate of Eastern Guilford High School and graduated from EIon College in 1982. She strived to get the most out of every day and always found something positive in every situation. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Ray Newton of the home; her father & step-mother, Rev Charles Watts Little and Carole Little of Whitsett; two daughters, Lynnesaye Newton Gilley and husband Matthew Gilley, and Leahanna ElizaBeth Newton and fianc Matthew Norriss; one son, Justin Cole Newton and fianc Whitney Wilkinson; two sisters, Kaye Little Langer of Whitsett, and Lisa Little Wilson and husband Jeff Wilson of Whitsett; two special sister-in-laws, Margie Barnette of Elon and Jeannie Newton of Gibsonville; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws. She had a very special caregiver from Hospice, Tina Wrenn. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Blackwelder and her brother, Charles Watts Little, Jr. A service to celebrate her life and her courageous battle against cancer will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Dr. Steve Tucker. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park, led by Rev. Edsel Caviness. Mrs. Newton will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to Altamahaw Baptist Church Tuesday evening where the family will receive friends from 6-8pm and at other times at the residence.
