Elizabeth Lilienthal

Elon-Elizabeth "Libby" Liles Lilienthal, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. She was born in Sellars, South Carolina to the late Rufus Leslie and Mary Burr Liles and was the wife of the late Manning Henry Lilienthal, Jr.
Libby retired after 30 years in Civil Service and was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church in Charleston, SC. She along with her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their camper. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of camping, deep sea fishing and going crabbing with their grandparents. Libby enjoyed bowling and boating with her grandchildren as well. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Manning Henry "Rick" Lilienthal, III and wife, Theresa of Elon; grandchildren, Beth McGuire and husband, Todd, Amanda Shoop and husband, David, Hank Lilienthal and wife, Lindsey and Hannah Lilienthal; great grandchildren, Dylan, Abigail, Lillian, Emma , Anna and Henry V; sister. Vivian L. Jones of Palm Coast, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, William Liles.
The family would like to thank Carver's Restaurant for assisting Libby after her fall also the orthopedic floor nurses at ARMC, Liberty Commons Rehab and the Alamance County EMS for all their compassionate care.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00am at Friedens Lutheran Church in Gibsonville by Rev. Bill Zima. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of her son.
