Burlington – Elizabeth Myers Kinney, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Hospice Home.  A native of Davidson County, she was born August 15, 1926 to the late William Jennings Bryan Myers, Sr. and Cada Lucile Leonard Myers and was the wife of 68 years to the late Richard Lewis Kinney.

Elizabeth was a hardworking mother, wife and daughter. Before having children, she was a secretary at Coble Dairy located in Lexington, NC. Once she became a mother, she focused her time in the household. Elizabeth was known for her crafts and homecooked meals. She loved to sew, knit and basket weave as well as make hot meals and baked goods for the ones she loved. Cooking her signature meals on holidays with her children and grandchildren brought her lots of joy. Elizabeth was an animal lover, growing up she was always surrounded by a variety of animals. She passed this same love on to her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Richard Bryan Kinney and wife Linda; daughter, Linda Sue Perry and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Joshua Kinney and fiancée Victoria, Anna Kinney and great niece Chris Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brothers, William Jennings Bryan Myers, Jr., Billy Joe Myers; sister, Eliza Opal Myers Kimbrell; brother-in-law, James Kimbrell; niece, Judy Phillips and her husband Bob Phillips.

A service to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held at a later date.
