Elizabeth Hursey

Elon-Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hope Hursey, 18, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2018 following injuries received in an auto accident. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of Chris and Jessica Hursey.
Lizzie was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and she attended Burlington Christian Academy. She was very artistic, creative, a former cheerleader at Cheer Zone and active at Kidsport Gymnastic Academy. Lizzie enjoyed spending time with her family and was always encouraging others. She had a special way with animals and loved little babies. Lizzie enjoyed being a hostess in the family business at Hurseys' BBQ, and giving special attention to her senior citizen customers. In her brief life she touched many lives and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her parents, Chris and Jessica Hursey of Elon; a sister, Savannah Ashley Hursey of the home; brothers, Bud Hursey and wife, Geena of Saxapahaw, John Tyler Hursey of Elon and Colton Charles Hursey of the home; her boyfriend, Dylan Wilkins of Elon; paternal grandparents, Charles and Ellen Hursey of Elon; maternal grandmother, Janice Walker of Burlington; maternal grandfather, James Bowman of Elon; uncles and aunts, Chuck Hursey and wife, Shelly, Carey Hursey and her fiancé, Mark Talley, Wendy Bryant and husband, Mark all of Elon. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Larry Walker and her paternal great grandmother, Daisy Hursey Brookbank.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 2:00PM at Harvest Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Lamberth and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Monday at Harvest Baptist Church and other times at the home.
