Elizabeth Davis

Carrie Elizabeth Goodale Davis, 87, formerly of Columbia, S. C., died Thursday, August 17, 2006. Born in Leslie, S.C., she was the wife of C. Fred Davis, and a daughter of Travis Des Champs Goodale and Nellie Mae Shillinglaw Goodale. Mrs. Davis was a partner in her husbands real estate business, and together they were among the earliest members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She was active in her church and community, including the Junior Womens Club, the Cosmopolitan Club, and the Fridi Club. She enjoyed books, flowers, music, and playing bridge. Surviving are her sons, R. Cary Davis of Gibsonville, N.C. and C. Fred Sharon Davis Jr. of Hixson, Tenn.; her daughter, Sandra Bob Moulton of Gibsonville; granddaughters, Paula M. Mike Hartsock of Hoover, Ala. and Melanie D. Fewell of Cleveland, Tenn.; grandsons, Michael Gray Moulton of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Mark Alyssa Davis of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Cullen Fewell, Will and Garrett Hartsock, and Isobella Moulton; and a brother, Gene Hazel Goodale of Collierville, Tenn. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her brother, Bill Goodale; and her sisters, Helen Goodale Bigham and Phyllis Goodale Patrick. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 20, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia, SC, conducted by the Rev. Christie Gravely. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers are Cary Davis, Fred Davis, Mark Davis, Gene Goodale, Mike Hartsock, and Mike Moulton.
