Elizabeth Pearl Hunley Pugh Bolick, 95, went home to be with the Lord Monday July 7, 2014 at The Oaks of Alamance after three weeks of critical illness. She was born February 20, 1919 in Campbell County, VA to the late Robert Haynes Hunley and the late Osie Jane Blessard Hunley and was married to the late James Coleman "J.C." Bolick, who died in 2013. Pearl retired from Glen Raven Mills after 28 years of service and was a member of Antioch Community Church. Survivors include her children, Lois East of Altavista, VA, Helen Reaves Harry of Huddleston, VA, Dianne Pugh Rittenmeyer Jim of Burlington and Charles Pugh Priscilla of Raleigh; step children, Judy Shambley Wayne of Graham and Donald Bolick Kay of Clemmons; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and two on the way, seven step grandchildren, fifteen step great grandchildren; brother, Bruce L. Hunley of Altavista, VA and numerous nephews and nieces. Special friends Doris Norris, steadfast friend of fifty years who faithfully visited to the end and Nancy Stout, who befriended mom at The Oaks making the move there easier. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; a daughter, Sandra Itasco "Sandi" Pugh Nicholson; sons-in-law, Alvin Lloyd East, Sr. and Robert Jerome "Butch" Nicholson; one grandson, one great grandson, one great granddaughter, four brothers and four sisters. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Antioch Community Church by Rev. Mark Fox with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the daughters' home, Dianne Pugh. The Bolick family would like to express their gratitude to their wonderful spiritual family at Antioch Community Church who has visited, sang to, and prayed with their mom and looked after them during this time; and to Cassie, Joyce, Sandra, and all the other Hospice folks who have lovingly cared for their mom during this last illness.
