Eli Gideon Rudd

Eli Gideon Rudd blessed this earth and his family with eight sweet weeks of life and cherished memories. He passed from the arms of his parents into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital surrounded by those who loved him dearly.

Born on April 7, 2024, Eli was the treasured son of Marty and Amanda Rudd and beloved brother of Levi. The joy and life he offered this world was unlike any other, and his memory will be carried in the hearts of those who were touched by his own. He is loved deeply, and his family clings to the hope of heaven when they will be reunited again.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Levi Sawyer Rudd; maternal grandparents, Tommy and Lynette McLendon; paternal grandmother,  Linda Collins; paternal great grandmother, Brenda Rudd; paternal great grandparents Bucky and MaryAnn Hamby; uncles, Wesley McLendon and wife Christine, Steven McLendon and wife Hannah, Taylor Collins and wife Rachel; cousins, Aubree, Lillie Kate, Callan and Benjamin; and many extended family members. Eli is preceded in death by his grandfather, Marty Rudd Sr.; great grandfather, Arthur Rudd; maternal great grandmother, Alice Airington and  maternal great grandmother Annie Lou McLendon; maternal great grandfather Wilbert Airington and maternal great grandfather, Leo McLendon; uncle Jacob Collins; aunt, Amy McLendon. 

A funeral service will be held 1pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 12 noon-12:45pm before.  A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3 p.m. with visitation 2:00 at Exway Baptist Church, 2119 County Line Road, Mt.
