Eleanor Thompson

Graham Eleanor Peele Thompson, 78, our loving mother, grandmother, and sister, died peacefully at her home on Monday, March 2, 2009. She was the daughter of the late John David and Alberta Lucas Peele, and was married to the late J.W. "Jim" Thompson for 57 years. She will be remembered most for her kindness, sense of humor, and chocolate chip cookies. Survivors include her sons James Gregory Thompson and wife Ursula of Cary, and Michael Warren Thompson and Jean Powell of Summerville, SC; daughter Teri Thompson Haskins and husband Forrest of Chapel Hill; grandchildren Heather Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Ellie Thompson, Maddie Thompson, Jack Haskins, and Paige Haskins; brothers, Billy Peele and Betty Smith of Burlington, Bobby and Joyce Peele of Graham; sister Susie Hunley of Gibsonville; daughter-in-law, Kande Thompson; and sister-in-law Joyce C. Peele. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Karen Patterson for her exceptional care and compassion during Mrs. Thompson's illness. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service in celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. A private inurnment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
