Gibsonville Effie Walker Troxler, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Alamance Health Care. A native of Rockingham County, she was born March 24, 1927 to the late Joseph Andrew and Virginia Ware Walker and was the wife of the late James Edward Troxler. Effie was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the Womens Sunday School Class. She was a bus driver for the special needs for the Alamance Burlington School System and was the former owner of Troxler Jug House Lake. She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Troxler Smith and husband Jeff of Connelly Springs; sons, Larry D. Troxler and wife Linda and Eric Jesse Troxler, all of Gibsonville; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Eddie Ronald Troxler, James Michael Troxler; sisters, Emma Robertson, Vernie Harrison, Maude Tate, Mary Lucille Wilson and brothers, Lloyd Walker, Henry Walker, Richard Walker, Edward Walker and Clyde Walker. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm, Friday, January 15, 2016 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Rev. Judson Dunlap with the burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her son, Larrys home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church at 4718 N Nc Highway 87, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
