Effie Lambert

Effie Russell Lambert, age 89, of 407 Trail 2, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Village of Brookwood. A native of Robeson County, she was the wife of the late Carvin R. Lambert and daughter of the late John R. and Ida Farmer Russell. She was a former secretary at Alamance Community College and later was employed as a tax collector for Alamance County. She was a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Burlington Business Club and was a Pink Lady at Alamance County Hospital and Memorial Hospital of Alamance. Effie loved to travel, enjoyed working around her house and yard and even enjoyed her attempt at playing golf. Survivors include her sister; Ethel Hornaday of Liberty; nieces and nephews, Lane Teague and husband Tony, John Doss and wife Kay, Gay Brown and husband Gary, Al Boswell and wife Terri, Vickie Parker and husband Phillip, Karen Hughes and husband Jon and Linda Albright and husband James and numerous great great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in Pine Hill Cemetery by Rev. Tim Robinson. Mrs. Lambert will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory where the family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday and at her home at other times.
