Graham Edward Ed Marion McKinney, 64, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 11, 1951 to the late Joseph Nathaniel and Sarah Pauline Wright McKinney, Sr. and was the husband of nearly 40 years to Shelby Jean Evans McKinney of the home. Ed was a former member of Wicker St. Baptist Church and retired from Payne Oil Company after 28 years of service. He was an avid UNC Tarheel basketball fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his Feline companions, Buddy, Shaggy and Baby Girl. Ed will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Shelby McKinney of the home; daughter, Tiffany McKinney Lee and husband Timmy of Graham; sister, Mary Polly Prince (Lloyd); brothers, Joe McKinney, Jr., Larry S. McKinney (Diane); sister-in-law, Amy Chapman and (Dave); mother-in-law, Betty Evans and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Angela Marie McKinney and father-in-law, Ralph Evans. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Denny Wall with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
