Mr. Edward H.D. "Dick" Carson, age 77, of 3120 William Penn Ct. in Twin Lakes, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he lived in Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia before finally settling in North Carolina. He was the son of the late Dr. Thomas H. Carson and the late Edith Dickie Carson and was married for 39 years to Jacqueline Alspaugh "Jacqi" Carson. Dick graduated from the University of Texas and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed in medical sales for several decades and was the owner and President of Ja-Dik Corporation. He had been very active in the Burlington/ Elon community since moving here with his wife, Jacqi, in 2006. Dick served as President elect of the Auxillary at Twin Lakes and served as Chairman of the Resident Council. He volunteered with Loaves and Fishes and provided transportation for patients of Alamance Cancer Center. Mr. Carson is survived by his wife; three children, Jan Germain and her husband, Kevin, of Virginia, Debra Speas of Burlington and Richard Speas and his wife, Barbara, of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Shawn Germain, Erin Germain, Chris Germain, Brittany Germain, Brooke Speas and Lauren Speas; a sister, Kitty Ellis and her husband, Ralph, of Las Vegas, NV; and two brothers, Rev. Thomas H. Carson and his wife, Jane, of Greenville, SC and John Carson and his wife, JoBeth, of Maud, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Penny England. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at First United Methodist Church of Elon by the Rev. Terry Huffines and Rev. Kristen Lassiter. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes Christian Food Ministery, 509 S.
