Burlington Mrs. Edna Gray Ritter Norris, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after 12 years of declining health. She was born in Alamance County to the late James Luther Ritter and the late Minnie Cook Ritter and was the wife of 55 years to Charlie Gattis "Shorty" Norris, Jr. who survives. Mrs. Norris retired from Alamance Knit, a volunteer with the Burlington Jaycees and was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church. Survivors other than her husband of the home include her sons, Randy Lewis Norris of the home and Danny Charles Norris of Lexington; grandsons, Daniel Charles Norris and James Preston Norris; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rachel and Bill Brooks of High Point, Betty and Don Greeson of Wilmington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Vicky Ritter of Graham, Franklin and Vy Ritter of Lake City, FL and her beloved dog, Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ray Boaz. The funeral service will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Steve Pruitt. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Peak Resources and Alamance Healthcare for all their loving care and compassion that was showed to Mrs. Norris.
