Browns Summit Edna Brown Michael, age 88, was called to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. A native of Guilford County, she was wife of the late William "Billy" Michael and daughter of the late Luther Van and Lula Jones Brown. She was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church, the Helping Hands Sunday School Class and was the owner and operator of Michael's Greenhouse. Survivors include her children, Joy Pickard, Judy Mahaffey and husband Larry, Ray Michael and wife Carla all of Gibsonville and Kathy Watlington of Greensboro; grandchildren, Larry Mahaffey, Jr. and wife Kimberly, Kristin Foldvik and husband Ivan, Katelyn Michael, Alex Michael and Tom Pickard and wife Emily; great grandchildren; Austin Mahaffey, Jacquline Mahaffey, Erika Adams, Warren Pickard and Lauren Pickard; brother, Bill Brown and wife Geraldine and sister, Jackie Barker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; bothers, Howard and Van Brown; sister, Violette Brown and son-in-law, Warren Pickard. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. Eric M. Dudley. Interment will follow in the Apple's Chapel Church cemetery. The family will host a reception and receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. The body will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes prior to the service.
