Edna Ruth McDavid Inman, 86 of Burlington passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Scott County, VA on November 5, 1937 to the late Claude Mitchell McDavid and Lavada Lawson McDavid and was the wife of 50 years to her devoted husband, Edward Riley “Ed” Inman.
Edna was a longtime and faithful member of Baptist Temple. She was known as a great prayer warrior who touched the lives of many with her heartfelt prayers and spiritual guidance. Her hospitality was evident as she welcomed anyone and everyone into her home. Edna’s generous spirit and nurturing nature have left a lasting mark on all who knew her. She enjoyed cleaning, gardening, canning and had a love for cooking. Most of all, she cherished time with her family and will be greatly missed.
Edna is survived by her sons, A.J. Inman (Spring Gates), Mitchell Inman and wife Naomi; grandchildren, Layne Inman Rhodes (Dalton), Landon Inman, Lathan Inman, and Thadeus Hines; brothers, James McDavid, Charles McDavid (Connie); sisters, Jo Pierson, Anna Carter (Joe), Mary Stonham, Wanda Burks, Sherry Hood (Rufus) and Nancy Miller (Bob) and a brother-in-law, Chester Bluck. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brother, Kelly Gene McDavid; sisters, Carol Bluck and an infant sister; brothers-in-law, Billy Pierson, Charles Burks and sister-in-law, Mildred McDavid.
A service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Baptist Temple by Rev. Don Carter with the entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45pm prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to E.M. Holt Fire Department #9, 2172 Bellemont-Alamance Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
