Gibsonville, NC Edna Cook Groce, 81, of 4350 McIntyre Road went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Lawrence James Groce. Edna was employed for many years with Kayser Roth Hosiery and was a member of McLeansville Baptist Church and a member of the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Wayne Reese of Gibsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Rene Groce of Summerfield; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters, Aileen Allison and Daphna Munns both of Gibsonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Arthur Ernie and Eva Breeden Cook; brothers, Harmon and Lacy Cook. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at McLeansville Baptist Church by Rev. Jack Lemons and assisted by Rev. Tommy Love and Rev. Harold Venable and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
