Edna Gibson

Mrs. Edna Mitchell Gibson, age 95, formerly of Gibsonville, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Friends Home of Guilford after several months of failing health.
Born in Beaufort, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sanderlin Mitchell and the late Leathia Credle Mitchell and was married over 53 years to Dr. Stanley C. Gibson, who passed away in 2002. She was a member of Front St. Christian Church and was a career homemaker along with being a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by two children, Celeste Stuart and her husband, Reid, of Stokesdale and Charles S. Gibson and his wife, Sarah, of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Leathea (Todd) Woodruff, Dana (Patrick) Benson, Barid Curry and Arwen Curry and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two children, Carlin Daniel Gibson and Chryl Gibson Curry; and three sisters.
A private family service will be held to celebrate her life at a later date.
