Edna Ingle Blythe, 89, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Guilford County to the late Carl Brower Ingle and the late Jennie Hoffman Ingle and was married to the late Charles Ewart Blythe who died in 2003. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and she will be deeply missed. Edna retired from Burlington Industries after 20 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Springwood Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in getting the church cemetery records in order. Edna had many talents like sewing, arts and crafts, she volunteered in the Whitsett community for many years and was a member of the Daughter's of American Revolution. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Peggy Blythe of Burlington, David and Margaret Blythe of Lexington; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and Cecil Whitesell of Elon and Lynn Blythe of Burlington; grandchildren and spouses, Rhonda Hall, Teresa and Boyce Morton, Ricky and Lisa Whitesell, Rodney and Carmen Whitesell, Tracy York, Paul Schoolfield, Dawn Thornburg, Bridgett and Brandon Dawson, David and Chanda Blythe, Jr., Jennifer Blythe, April and Michael Young ; 23 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Dean Ingle of Concord, Mary Frances "Pud" and Bruce Andrews of Whitsett, Ann and Ronnie Clarke of Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Kate Ingle of Simpsonville, SC, Jerry and Marie Ingle of Whitsett, Tony and Sherry Ingle of Greensboro, and Arlene Ingle of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Charles Darryl Blythe; parents; brothers, J.B. Ingle and Dan Allen Ingle and a sister, Sue Ingle Allen. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Springwood Presbyterian Church by Dr. Genie Martin with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. The Blythe family would like to express their gratitude to mama's caregiver, Earlene Allen, for the care and love she showed to their mama during her illness; also to the Hospice nurses, Vicky, Bonnie and Crystal for all the love and care that they showed to their mama; and to all the family and friends for their support.
