Edith Hill Sears, 93, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital following a brief illness. She was born September 10, 1921 in Randolph County to the late Virgil and Bertha Trotter Hill and was married to the late Daniel "Dan" Joseph Sears. Edith was a member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonville where she was very active in many roles. She was the bookkeeper and co-owner along with her husband of Alamance Oil. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Survivors include her son William "Danny" Sears of Gibsonville, grandchildren; Danica Kelso and her husband Chuck, Jeremy Sears, Andy Sears and his wife Alyson, great grandchildren; Kierstyn Kelso, Holt Sears, Kiley Sears, Will Sears and sisters; Allene Jarvis of Sanford and Ava Routh of Randolph County along with several half sisters and brother, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by Rev. Jim Upchurch and Rev. James Hagwood. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home.
