Burlington - Edith Matherly Faust, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on December 24, 1925 to the late Samuel Geter and Elsie Atkins Matherly and was the wife of 27 years to Thomas Albright Faust of the home. Edith was a faithful, lifelong member of Davis St. United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the choir as well as the Builder's Class and served for nearly 15 years doing volunteer work at ARMC. She was retired from Western Electric and enjoyed playing bridge in her spare time. Edith was a loving wife, mother sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Graham L. Andrews, Jr. of Greensboro; stepson, Johnny Faust and wife Pam; stepdaughter, Chandra Allman; granddaughter, Brooke Faust; sister, Geraldine Rivenbark, all of Burlington, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband of 30 years, Graham L. Andrews, four sisters and four brothers. The funeral service will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Davis St. United Methodist Church by Rev. Ellen McCubbin with the entombment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davis St. United Methodist Church, 606 East Davis St., Burlington, NC 27215.
