Edgar Shepard

Burlington, NC Edgar H. Ted Shepard, age 78, of 307 Christopher Drive went home to be with the Lord at his home on Friday, December 30, 2005. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 56 years to Alene Long Shepard who survives. Ted retired from Copeland Industries after 42 years and after his retirement he worked as a crossing guard for over 7 years at Hillcrest Elementary School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. He was a member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ where he also served on the Board of Trustees. Ted was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Alene Long Shepard of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cindy Shepard of Concord; grandchildren, Brian and Katie Shepard; sisters, Hazel Johnson of Greensboro and Lillian Bachelor of Snow Camp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. And Florence Brady Shepard and a daughter, Debbie Shepard Swinson. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rosser Clapp and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and other times at the residence.
