Edgar Cook

GIBSONVILLE- Edgar Samuel Cook, 85, of 723 Dick St., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at his home after an extended illness. A native of Pittsylvania County, VA, he was married to Mrs. Muriel Allred Cook since 1942. He was an U.S. Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre during WWII. He was retired from Western-Electric Company after 42 years service, was a longtime member of Gibsonville V.F.W. Post 2972, and a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church. Every one that knew him thought he was the kindest person they knew. Each of them were blessed to have known him. Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Claudia Arnold and her husband, John, of Boone, NC; and a grandson, John Lindsey Arnold. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 7, 2005 at Gibsonville City Cemtery by the Rev. David Greene.
