Eddie Macon Talley, 89, formerly of N. Sellars Mill Rd. passed away at his daughter's home Wednesday, October 13, 2010 following several months of failing health. He was married to the late Magnolia Pulliam Talley for fifty-four years and the mother of his children. He was also married to the late Edith Wiley Talley for ten years. Macon was born August 31, 1921 to the late Noel J. and Frannie Gravitte Talley. He was a member of Triple Springs Baptist Church in Roxboro, NC. He retired from Burlington Industries and later worked part time for Lowes. Macon served in the US Army during WW II and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10607 in Burlington. Survivors include his daughter Sandra Talley Harbin of Fuquay-Varina, NC, a son Eddie and his wife Barbara Talley of Mebane, NC, sisters; Hazel May, Lucille Thomas both of Burlington, Juanita Grizzle, Elizabeth Talley both of Mebane, a brother Lawrence Talley and his wife Cornellia of Burlington, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two wives, parents, three brothers and a sister, a grandson Lane Harbin and a granddaughter Tammy Talley. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jimmy Pulliam. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and at other times at the home of his son Eddie Talley, 2567 Hwy 119 South lot 13, Mebane.
