Early Greene Dickerson, age 89, of Bethel South Fork Road went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Franklin County and the husband of the late Minnie Baker Dickerson. Early was a retired paint contractor an avid fisherman and of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Ward and her husband, Bernie of Henry, Virginia, Geneva Dickerson of Hampton, Virginia, Mary Evans and her husband, Hugh of Hillsborough, Willie Greer and her husband, Gaire Thomas of Alamance, Nellie Barrera and her husband, Romeo of San Antonio, Texas and Carolyn Webster of Alamance; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Dickerson and his wife, Martha of Snow Camp; twenty-five grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Ervin and Mary Asycue Dickerson; sisters, Effie May Dickerson and Lucy Patterson; brothers, Thomas Dickerson and twin brother, Alfred Dickerson. The Dickerson family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care over the past weeks for their father. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain M J Tucci and the entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
