Dr. William Dee "Bill" Bailey

Dr. William “Bill” Dee Bailey age 84, of Burlington, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Dewitt Lawrence Bailey and Bessie Bailey Herron. Bill was married to Robin Callis Bailey, who survives.

Bill graduated from Elon College and obtained his doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of South Carolina. He was an avid golfer and vintage car enthusiast.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Melissa Bailey and Geoffrey Bailey. Other survivors include his sister, Brenda Felter (Fred) and brother, Jerry Bailey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jelene Bailey Blanchard.

The family would like to thank all the staff, nurses and doctors at the Cancer Center at ARMC of Burlington. They would also like to express their gratitude to the team at AuthoraCare of Burlington. Lastly, they wish to acknowledge the help of the special caregivers and friends of the family, who have carried them through this trying time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Habitat for Humanity or the Humane Society of Alamance County
