Dr. Daniel P. Ryskiewich, PhD., 80, of 3312 Marlborough Rd. passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Hospice Home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Lillian Siuzdak Ryskiewich and was born June 30, 1931 in Pawtucket, R.I. to the late Stanley and Stella Trocki Ryskiewich. He earned his undergraduate degree at Providence College and his PhD. in Chemistry at New York University. He retired from Ciba Geigy after thirty-one years of service as a research chemist. He was a member of the American Chemical Society. Dan was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for thirty-five years, where he served as an usher, on the Parish Council and the Minister of Hospitality. He enjoyed many hobbies like woodworking, fishing, playing tennis, ice skating and traveling with his wife and spending time with his family He is survived by his wife of the home, children; Paul Daniel Christina Ryskiewich, M.D. of Charlotte, Cheryl Ann Patton of Greensboro, Thomas S. Paula Ryskiewich of Mebane, grandchildren; Buddy Patton, Daniel Ryskiewich, Alexander Ryskiewich, Stephen Ryskiewich and a brother Bernard Mary Ryskiewich of Pawcatuck, CT. The funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1620 Hanford Rd., Graham. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the residence.
